Javier Martínez-Brocal

Granada, 1978

Javier Martínez-Brocal (Granada, 1978) is a journalist and writer. Since 2003 he has lived in Rome, where he runs the Rome Reports news agency. He collaborates with the Wall Street Journal and the ABC newspaper of Madrid. He covered the last stage of the pontificate of John Paul II and the conclaves that elected Benedict XVI and Francis. In addition, he has accompanied these two popes on most of their trips. He directs the weekly program “The World as Seen from the Vatican”, which is broadcast on television in thirty countries. He is the author of El papa de la Misericordia (Planet, 2015), which has been a publishing success in Latin America and Spain.
