The president of Santa Clara, popularly known as the Princess, wants to make her small island republic a cultural centre of the world. She thus invites writers and artists to celebrate a grand Festival of Culture. However, an inconvenient volcanic eruption interferes with her plans and its ash cloud makes it impossible for host and guests to meet on the island.
The young journalist Xavi Mendia, special correspondent for Mundo Vasco, covers the strange situation and listens to the guests’ stories as they wait to be able to get away: stories of passions and terror, intrigue and fantasy, including the perplexities of contemporary culture and even the shadow of a lurking vampire...
